My name is Alexa Young
With a Bachelor of Design in Photography and a lifelong connection to the outdoors, I’ve built my career around visual storytelling and the people, places and industries that inspire me.
My experience spans commercial construction, agriculture, live events and wildlife. Whether on a construction site or somewhere in the backcountry, I’m drawn to authentic stories and creating visual work that connects with people.

The Galápagos Islands
A collection of encounters with the Galápagos locals, capturing the unique species and their curious behaviour that make these remote islands so extraordinary.
Found nowhere else on Earth, marine iguanas are the only lizard adapted to forage in the ocean, diving into the cold Pacific waters to feed on algae.
Groups (squadrons) of manta rays patrolling coastline of Nusa Penida. This was an unforgettable experience. Adults span over seven metres across and feed primarily on plankton, gracefully filtering huge volumes of water as they move through the ocean.
Indonesia
From the vibrant reefs and the rugged coastlines of Indonesia, this collection captures the quiet moments that make Nusa Penida & Lombok so captivating. Freediving alongside manta rays and encounters with curious monkeys, here's a glimpse into the wild side of these islands.
Fiordland, New Zealand
Fiordland holds a special place for many of us, with its rugged mountains, deep fiords, and wild, untouched landscapes. This collection captures a place that continues to inspire me, and the sense of scale and solitude that makes it unique.
The ever-inquisitive Kea of Fiordland National Park. Found only in New Zealand’s South Island, these highly intelligent alpine parrots are renowned for their curious nature.
